How to Create an AGrid Configuration from existing Salesforce List View or Related Lists:
- Create a New Configuration: Navigate to the New button and click on it. This opens a dialogue box where you can choose which List view you want to import: Salesforce List View or Salesforce related List Views. Select Import Salesforce List View.
- Choose a List View:
- Salesforce List View: Select the object and the specific List view associated with that object. This way all the right data from the selected List view are transferred to the AGrid Configuration.
- Salesforce Related List View: Select the Parent object and then the Relationship Object. This way the data from that Object’s Related List view are transferred to the AGrid Configuration.
- Rename the AGrid List View: Let’s go with Salesforce List view and now if desired, rename the AGrid List view for better recognition within your system.
- Validate Fields and Columns: Check the fields and adjust their order on the “Columns” tab. While you can delete columns at this stage, new ones cannot be created until later. But you can still select if each column being imported can be Edited, sorted, searchable or is Required.
- Work on Filters: Validate existing filters from the “Filters” tab and click Save to retain these settings in the AGrid configuration. Note, again while you can delete filters at this stage, new ones cannot be created until later.
- Validate the Columns and Their Order:
After saving, you will land on the AGrid Configurations page, which provides a suite of tabs for additional customizations.
- Selection of Columns: Choose the fields that you want to appear in your AGrid List view, and you have the freedom to arrange them in the order that best suits your needs. Also you can customize the actions the user can perform on each column like Sort, Edit, Required, etc.,
- Remove Unnecessary Columns: If there are any columns that are not required, you can easily delete them at this stage.
- Customize Actions: Beyond adding and removing columns, you can also add specific actions (such as Edit, Delete, or custom functions) that users can perform directly from the AGrid view by clicking on the “Add Action” button. This enhances user interactivity and efficiency within the grid.
- Create More Filters

- Define Filter Criteria: Under the “Filters” tab, you can establish new filter criteria that go beyond what was available in the original Salesforce List View. These criteria can be based on various field values, logical conditions, or even custom expressions.
- Organize Filters: You can also add custom conditions to these filters to apply complex filtering logic with ease. Once you have defined and organized your filters, make sure to save them.
- Place the AGrid: After customizing the AGrid, position it and place where needed and save. This simple yet vital step transforms the imported Salesforce List view into an AGrid List view, offering end-users a refreshed experience with list views.
- Highlighting the features of AGrid List view:
The actions on the top right corner (List Actions) of the above image allows the user to do the following
- Search particular record on this Enhanced AGrid List view
- Multi select and perform Delete action
- Create single or multiple records
- Set some preference for the AGrid List view
- Focus Mode – Take the List view to full screen mode
On the Column Level, you can also see that you can sort induvial columns.
You can now also filter the created Agrid List View using the “Add Filter” button.
- Enhancing your Agrid List view:
- Sorting Options: Choose the fields by which you want to sort the data. You can define the sort order for a more structured display. You can sort up to 3 Levels with AGrid
- Group By Fields: This powerful feature lets you group the records by specific fields. For instance, if you group by a date field, you can see the data segmented by each date, making the analysis of trends or patterns more straightforward.
- Create Row Actions and List Actions: Enhance the functionality of your AGrid by creating Row Actions (actions specific to each record row) and List Actions (actions that can be applied to multiple rows at once). This provides users with powerful tools to interact with the data directly from the AGrid.
- Set Preferences: If you need further customization, you may set individual user preferences or global preferences to ensure the AGrid behaves exactly as required for different user roles or profiles.
