CHALLENGE
JCI currently uses the following applications to manage their daily operations:
- Salesforce – To handle the CRM and sales processes
- ServiceMax – To manage the field service operations
However, there is no systematic approach in place to efficiently manage the quoting/contracting process for JCI’s professional services, which is vital to achieve business goals in a competitive service environment.
SOLUTION
Profession Service Contract micro service abbreviated as PSCms is a tool developed by Softsquare leveraging Heroku platform. PSCms collects information about the customer and their service information, where a service opportunity for that customer is opened. All the sales process are managed at Salesforce end and service process are managed at ServiceMax end. PSCms connects the aforementioned applications which will streamline the service contract management process. The following are the significant modules handled by the PSCms application
Parts Management – Parts contains different spares for servicing a product where the end user can order a spare for replacing or can order a new part for damage claim are in the session of included parts.
Contract Cost Management – Contracts cost allows the end user to set the margin amount for the product servicing which includes the labour charges, miscellaneous cost, taxation, mobilizations, service charge and equipment charge.
Approvals – Approval is done based on the organization role hierarchy. During the approval process the record will be sent to the higher role of the current user where the higher role user will review the record and marks the record as Approved/ Declined.
PSCms allows the users to generate two different variants of reports:
- Customer report – A document comprising all information about service contract quotation that can be transmitted electronically to the customer
- Internal user report – A detailed document for internal users comprising all details pertaining with respect to a customers’ service contract.
RESULT
As a result of using PSCms, Johnson Controls has accounted for a significant improvement in cost and process efficiency
